I was right in the middle of taking a bunch of illuminators apart when I heard Ken's truck pull up. I'd called him to say Let's unload the new capacitors on Thursday, and Ken remembered that but thought yesterday was Thursday.
In the end I got a hamburger (he gets these 2 for 1 deals) and my pay check, and we agreed to handle the capacitors on ... Thursday. Tonight.
I finished taking the illuminators apart, finished a load of laundry, and eventually got to bed.
I drank less, again, and had a vivid dream but it wasn't too bad. I woke up at 10, and finally got going around 11. I had breakfast and then gave myself a haircut. Then I singled out 15 things to list on Ebay and photographed them. Then, as I watched the clock closely, I got out of here I thought, at 4.
I always look at my phone to confirm the time when I leave here and it was actually 3. Oops. I dropped off trash and then mail, and got to my bank about 5 minutes before they were going to take their afternoon break. My math and theirs agreed to the penny.
The road was all messed up on the way to Whole Foods so I went through Diridon Station to get around it. Then I went in there to eat. It being the slow part of the afternoon, there wasn't much. The things in the hot bar were all not Kosher style or not things I wanted to eat due to being full of carbs. So it was "sticks and stones" again with the addition of some salmon, and a can of fizzy water. That only cost me a little over $7.
I sat and ate and people-watched. The security guard (they seem to just have this one guy now; he must be good at the job) gave me a wink and a smile, and I saw him hassle a homeless person who appeared to be sleeping at one of the tables.
Because Ken and I had been gushing about Goodwill, I decided to go to the Goodwill on San Carlos. I ended up finding 3 pairs of synthetic shorts. Not quite running shorts but kind of like them. Maybe what guys might wear playing vollyball or just doing sporty stuff in general. I want to find some of the really skimpy running shorts but that may take some time. My cotton shorts I'd been wearing around here are not all that comfortable and they tent to roll up for some strange reason. So that cost me $18 and money well spent as the shorts are a big improvement.
Then I rode over to Walmart, of course locking the bike by Big-5 and they had a sale so I looked around in there. I saw a shirt for sale near the front and picked that up, then looked into their running shorts situation. Kinda meh. So I tried on the shirt and it's great, or at great as a shirt is going to be before I lose weight, so I bought that and that was about $17.
I didn't buy that much in Walmart, and didn't even need a bag as the Big-5 bag had plenty of room. Now I rode back to Nijiya and was going to get eggs and peppers there but they didn't have the 6-packs of eggs so I just got the peppers and some Lipovitan.
I did find one book on this trip, about Mayer Lansky so it's definitely one I'll read.
I got back here, listed the 15 things, and moved things around to make a space for the capacitors Ken was bringing. He didn't show up at his regular time so I started doing trash pickup in the parking lot and then of course he drove up. He brought in his check book and I said, "Don't write me another check, you already wrote me one". He ate his usual Burger King burger and fries, and I'd just had something like "burger in a bowl" earlier so I was fine - he said I could have half of his Whopper but I said I'd just eaten.
We got to work bringing the capacitors in, took a break halfway through, then finished. It wasn't too bad. And of course we talked about tons of things. So all in all it went pretty well.
