Last night I got all involved in looking up tutorials on how to do Tuvan throat singing, where the singer gets 2-3 tones at once, from a low rumble to an eerie high whistling tone. Werner Herzog uses it in his documentaries a lot, and that's what got me started. So I was messing around making awful noises, didn't practice, and went to bed around 3.
I woke up around noon, and packed some things I could take without needing the bike trailer. Drop-offs went fine, and I got a few things at 99 Ranch also, mainly a package of this "white curry" ramen that comes with a packet of really hot red curry paste.
As soon as I got home and put most of the things I'd picked up on the way back, away, I cooked a bowl of that with beef and jalapeno pepper, yum!
Relaxing here with some tea and taking my vitamins, I'm thinking, Why in the world would I want to try taking on learning Tuvan throat singing now? Just getting decent at regular singing would put me ahead of almost everyone else. I'm sure it has some value, in that it seems to involve deep breathing and would make me more aware of what's going on in my throat and chest, and of course it sounds cool. But the flute is a lot more important.
