65th day sober. Since it's a 3-day weekend with today a federal holiday, this week my Monday is an effective Sunday. And that's a good thing since I didn't get up until 6!
I'd watched the 7th, last, episode of Winds Of War and practiced. Before, when I was busking, I'd not practice on busking days. But I've since learned that Benny Goodman practiced every day even when he was performing and leading a big band. I'm sure all my other heroes do, too.
The Real Busking Schedule(tm) is going to be Thursday-Friday-Saturday; the same schedule Leroy follows. Normally Sundays are pretty dead. Thursday is pretty easy since that's my bank day, so all I have to do is bring the trumpet along, do things around downtown until that annoying sun goes down, then go to work at Whole Foods. As for the other two days, I'll have a FedEx and post office run on Friday and a possible FedEx run on Saturday before going out to busk.
Sunday might be spent sleeping most of the day just like today but at least I'll be getting to what I need to do; develop as a musician and as a busker, and build for myself a sort of safety net that's not working for Ken, so if something happens with my main job I have something to fall back on.
