85th day sober. After listing the math books on Ebay I stayed up a bit later but not much, didn't practice, and went to bed around 6-7AM. I had a guy coming over to pick up an oscilloscope around 2, and I didn't sleep that much because I was worried about waking up in time.
I woke up about 1, had my sunflower seeds and vitamins and so on, aspirin for my headache, and the guy came by maybe a quarter after 2. It went pleasantly and we talked a bit. I pointed out with a laugh that he was getting a pretty good deal, a 500MHz scope with a bad channel 4, well, how many times do most people even use channel 4?
After giving him some nice directions how to get back onto the freeway to Santa Cruz, I went back in and tried to get enthusiastic about doing stuff and failed. I packed one thing that for-sure needs to go to FedEx tomorrow, and other than that, all I wanted to do was go back to bed.
My going out busking starting a bit after 6 instead of a bit after 8 went well. It gave me room to stay out longer and make the quota I'd set for myself. And I'm still yet to dip into that possible money-pot that might be the lunch hour.
The thing is, I wonder if I might get back to a Hawaiian schedule? That doesn't mean sleeping in until the afternoon and all that; that'd be a New Orleans or NYC schedule. In Hawaii getting up early is really en vogue, because it gets hot in the middle of the day. So garage sales are rockin' by 6:30 in the morning and pretty much done by 10AM. The real action at the Pearl City swap meet is in the early morning and then everyone just sits around, baking in the sun and doing an occasional lazy sale, until it's time to go.
It would mean bedtime being before midnight, but I'd get a ton done during the day. It would also mean being able to be up early enough on weekends to try going up to Fisherman's Wharf to try the busking waters there.
