Busy day at the UPS

I woke up at 1:30, noticed it was dry outside and checked the weather radar. It looked like it would be dry where I am, as most of the clouds were either going to the north bay or just holding off.

So without bothering about coffee or anything, I packed another package so I'd have two, one for FedEx and one for UPS, and got out of here with 'em.

There was an actual line in front of the UPS and all the people seemed to be holding Amazon boxes. So I had to wait in line for a short while. They were busy as hell inside, so I guess Saturday at mid-day is a popular time.

I checked my usual places for packing materials on the way back, finding nothing, then stopped in at Tom's to hang out for a while.

We talked about tons of stuff, had some laughs, the usual. We each had a beer and I had some peanuts. Eventually the wind started getting strong and doing this weird mini-cyclone thing right where we were sitting. We stood by his truck to get away from that, and I started feeling raindrops. I'd been watching the clouds North of us, which while ominous weren't actually producing rain. It turned out I'd been watching the wrong clouds, as it was the ones to the South that were moving in, and it was starting to rain. I finished my beer and tossed the empty can into the wind which took it away quickly, and it was "See ya, I gotta go, thanks for the beer!"

I had to fight some pretty strong wind coming back, but it didn't get really wet until an hour or two after I got back in here.

Heavy, man.

Last night I got the Connstellation cornet out and put the screw for the 1st valve trigger back on, and installed new water key corks too. ...
