Give us this day our daily zombie

I woke up in the afternoon, with my headache really bad. I had coffee, a diet 7-Up, and aspirin for breakfast.

I'd practiced last night, listed things on Ebay, dug out things that had sold, etc., and had liver pate' and onions and a watery beer or three to top off my night before the practice, then another watery beer or three before bed.

If my basic problem has been not getting enough fluids then I can see where having a couple or three watery beers over each 24-hour period might help. But I've been drinking too many of them and right before bed is, apparently, a mistake.

I packed things that had to go out and left here at a quarter after 4. I talked about bikes with some 5-foot-nothin' gal at the post office, who told me she works for Tesla (no one who actually works there can afford a Tesla, or a car, really - it's a horrible workplace) and how she got a bike at Walmart (leaving unsaid the crazy bargain price of $300 for one like mine, new, was unthinkable). Mainly I talked up learning some basic bike mechanic skills and interesting bikes like Brompton folding bikes and the little-known but interesting 24-inch wheel bikes, halfway between an adult's and a kid's size and really intriguing,

I headed back with the one FedEx box to H Mart, and while locking the bike up met this day's zombie. A shuffling stump, ugly fellow, what we call "developmentally disabled" these days, and asking for a dollar or something not over-politely. I pointedly ignored it and it shuffled on down the sidewalk.

It was a complicated visit as I had to use the loo very much, so I dashed in to do that, then back out to the bike to grab the FedEx box and drop it off at FedEx, then back in for some shopping. I got some diet 7-Up for twice what it costs at Walmart, but then I wasn't at Walmart, was I, I told myself. And some shredded seaweed on sale to try, and some frozen shrimp. And an "8 Mate" big bag of 8 smaller bags of arare.

I rode straight back here and had some of the arare and tried the seaweed, which is really good so I'll have to get more. And did the usual fiddly-futzing around I do here.  Including packing things so I can get out of here like the proverbial scalded cat if there's a non-stormy slot of time I make a post office run.

I'm now corresponding well with the friend on Oahu, who needs to sell a bunch of antiques or whatever it is. It seems to be "Japanese records" right now.

I also found someone on the r/ukraine subreddit that I might be able to send things to. I've got a lot of stuff that I'm not taking with me, and would be useful to the troops he's sending things to, that are donated or that he buys with money donations. I've emailed him that I've got a lot of useful stuff, multi-tools and stuff, that I can send. A lot of it is stuff I was going to sell, but sending it to help the war effort is even better.

Heavy, man.

Last night I got the Connstellation cornet out and put the screw for the 1st valve trigger back on, and installed new water key corks too. ...
