I went to bed at around 5:30AM I must say a bit sheepishly. I woke up around 9AM hearing leaves in a mad dance outside and wondered if it was rainy. Then I realized it's got to be pretty dry because the leaves sure are. But, I need more sleep than 3 hours. So I went back to sleep until a bit after noon.
I read a bit of "Angry White Pajamas", then went back to sleep having a weird dream involving a bunch of Japanese guys, then woke up at around 4:30. It was pouring out there. There are "widespread power outages" around downtown and extending pretty far out, though, so I put a new battery in my small flashlight and will keep it in my pocket, put my rechargeable one on my cell phone charger, and have the big one ready to hand.
At least my headache was barely detectable when I got up. I drank less of the watery beers and not overdoing those helps. It's a real quandary, because the watery beers are cheaper than non-alcohol beers, and actually have less carbs/calories.
I heard back from the guy from Reddit to send things to for the Marines in Ukraine, so now I get to start making up a box of stuff - I told him it will be the most random, but useful stuff.
I looked at the rain situation and it's pretty crazy. I'm actually in a flood zone. I called Ken and said he might as well not come by this week, because I don't want him to feel like he has to go out to bring me my paycheck, and then get into a flooded area, truck conks out, etc. Just come by next week.
This actually saves me some extra work, too. Since I don't have to go to the bank this week, this means Friday can be used solely to get packages out. And I don't have to go out into the rain to move some plastic tubs of stuff I left out for the bums, and the bums haven't taken so far, out of sight. And then have to moved 'em back into sight once Ken's gone. If Ken sees them, he'll want to look through them and maybe drag all the junk back in here. Now I don't have to worry about it.
