I practiced last night and got to sleep OK. I had a weird dream where I'd gotten myself back to Hawaii and as I may well end up doing, was in a very nice hotel which I would be in for a couple or a few weeks. I wandered around the Waikiki area then walked a bit towards downtown and found a very decrepit area where a guy was looking over and pulling weeds away from a building his family had owned, that had been a barbershop.
I was up at 4 or so. Maybe closer to 3:30. It doesn't matter, as I got out of here at 5. There was a *lot* of traffic so while leaving earlier is better for it being warm, the traffic can be kind of crazy. This has goods and bads. Heavy traffic gets "congealed" so no one goes very fast, and that makes is safer for me. The bads are, well, tons of cars.
I did my drop-offs, 19 packages, so that went well. I got back here and had something to eat, and Ken called, saying he was coming over tonight. So I put things away and packed a few things, two of them large, and Ken came over his usual after-work time.
Ken's wife had told him to find a set of dishes that are in a box in here, somewhere. Ken spent about 2 hours digging around with no luck. I even tried helping a bit. It was a lot of work for Ken, plus I could not do much with him buzzing around, and I had to have the door into the warehouse open so I was freezing.
When Ken was finally done, with no luck, I made cups of tea for both of us and we talked about various things, and he left at about 1. He might be back tomorrow night to look for those dishes again, too. There's been a standing invitation for his wife to come over here and I'd help her look for or re-arrange any of her stuff that's stored here. Also, she could have given Ken a bit more lead time.
I managed to foist the two big packages off on Ken, who will take them to FedEx. This means I can just go downtown tomorrow, drop off two small ones at the post office there, and go to the bank. I'll pick up some things and get right back here because Thursday's a holiday of course and Friday is a buy-nothing day for me.
