After listing 20 things on Ebay last night, and packing 5, I got some practice in. I was happy that it seemed I was more consistent, and had a good strong tone both in both low and high octaves. I practice the exercises in the book in the octave written, and then again in the higher octave. According to some guy on YouTube, the 2nd octave is actually the same fingering as the 1st, then it's when you get to the 3rd that you use different fingerings so I'm on the right track.
I need to keep being consistent like this, so I'll be able to do Xmas tunes for this holiday season. In theory, the flute being easier as far as range goes than the trumpet, I'll be able to play some stuff I've long wanted to play like the one in The Grinch when all the Who's in Whoville get together and sing.
I'm also helped by one guy on YouTube I've subscribed to, who has simply recorded himself playing all the tunes in the book. It's handy for weird tunes like "Lullaby", to make sure I'm playing it right (I am).
I finally went to sleep and there was thunder and lightning and hail, and I woke up around 4. I'd had a weird dream where I was adjusting the front disc brake on my motorcycle and it took special tools, which I had, and was very realistic like I was in real life. I wake up and when I think about it, I think "What a stupid dream! Hydraulic disc brakes are self-adjusting."
