44th day sober. I was up late/early listing Ebay stuff, and then did some practice. It's funny how, when I'm out of practice, I can always rip out high C's if I'm trying out a horn or something, but when it comes to buckling down and putting in an hour+ of playing, it's a lot harder. But it's hard practice that got me there in the first place, and apparently that's just what it takes: being stubborn and just practicing those exercises over and over.
My first Getchell-Hovey book *and* my now-repaired laptop are both waiting for me downtown but I can't get 'em today, as I have packing and shipping to do.
I got everything I wanted to, packed, except for a pair of big mixing boards; of course the guy had to buy both so they have to be fitted into a big box with plenty of custom-cut pieces of foam to make sure they get where they're going nice and comfy.
The drop-offs at the post office and FedEx went fine, and I resisted the urge to get a gyro from Baba's and instead got back here and cooked up an island favorite, spam and eggs. Yes, I had a can of spam around and I figured it's time I started using it. People say it's expensive, but a can is 12 oz. and my normal serving of meat is 4 oz, so a can is 3 servings and comes out to less than $2 a serving, which is pretty much my standard for any sort of meat or fish.
