135th day sober. I practiced last night and was not thrilled with how it went. I'd given myself an hour to practice and wanted to "get it over with" and go to bed. I'd watched episodes 1-2 of The Trap by Adam Curtis so I'd given myself episode 3 which is 55 minutes or something. But I think being in a hurry or tense harms me more than I've thought it could. Maybe trumpet is less of a brute-force thing than I've been thinking it is.
I at least got Ebay things listed and put a bunch of stuff away too. But I slept in until 5. I needed the sleep, I guess, and managed to get everything I'd pre-packed all ready to go in the 45 minutes or so I had.
I took the things to the post office and then did a big shopping trip at H Mart to the tune of a little over $60. I rode by Tom's on the way back to verify that there was packing foam sheet in the dumpster next door, called out to Tom, who was hanging out in his doorway, that I just needed to go get my bike trailer, and rode for here.
I put things away and got the trailer out, and went back over to the dumpster first and loaded up a big 55-gallon bag with foam sheet then hung out with Tom for a bit. He wasn't making any lumber sales, and was only running into scammers on Craig's List. Among other things we talked about tiki bars and the tiki esthetic. and he told me of this really good tiki bar up in the city. I said if he wanted to go I'm up for it, I'll just have club soda or something.
I asked Tom if he'd mailed in his ballot in the election, and he said he hadn't but that he'd have only voted for the recall anyway, because a recall might mean a shake-up at his work that might benefit him.
