I'm making progress.

142nd day sober.  After listing Ebay stuff last night, I did some practice but it seems like I was still in need of recovery from my busking session so I didn't practice that much.

I can't deny that I am making progress. For instance, I remember barely being able to play "Edelweiss" at home here, and now I can play it when out busking without problems. I remember Ave Maria having me out of breath and now my biggest problem with it is the fingering and I'm very close to being over that problem. I remember "Autumn Leaves" being a song I could only play when I was fresh, and now it's an oldie for me.

And, I think I'm finally getting a finger on the problem of opening or constricting the throat. I can control this consciously now, although when I get fatigued that's harder to do. It makes a big difference in tone. I think it really says something that these days I can really tell the difference between a 7C and a 3C mouthpiece and I remember a couple of years ago not being able to tell.

The once and future cornet
