Muggy Monday?

It's gonna rain, is what it's going to do. Good thing I woke up a bit before 1. I was packing things to ship last night and kind of ran out of gas at 4AM and called it a night. My printer's acting up, and either it's "sagging' voltage in the AC power here, or I need to go through the power connections and spray them with some contact cleaner, and I don't want to mess with that now. I was able to pack one thing just now but it was a real struggle.

On the radio they're talking about the Idiot-In-Chief stealing the next election and also taking our post office away. I can't say things are getting scary because they were already getting scary. Maybe I should say they're getting scarier?

Israel can hold election after election and I've seen no grousing about the kind of things that are considered OK in our own, highly corrupt process. The "corruption" of Bibi Netanyahu wouldn't even raise a yawn here. Gotta keep working on Hebrew...

I had my coffee etc., and took off around maybe 2, and there up by the front of the building was a lunch truck that used to regularly be there. I stopped and got half an egg and mystery meat burrito for $2, and stood by my bike eating it - it sure hit the spot. Taking the stuff to the post office and FedEx was pretty uneventful, and I didn't find much in the way of packing material on the way back. I did harvest some malva and "harvested" a couple of red onions from the veggie place.

It had been really windy and I wasn't sure if it would rain, so when I got in with the bike trailer I debated with myself whether to make a shopping run today or leave it for tomorrow. I decided to do it today, and took off around 4, then came back to get the bag of trash I had to get rid of, and took off again.

My card very seldom works at H Mart, so I took extra money with me, and that worked out well. I'd bought all kinds of things from a box of ginseng drinks to a couple of bottles of hooch, a "Living Best" saucepan, and a really awesome "Cantonese Style Slicing Knife" they'd had for $20 for a while and I'd been eyeing, but they were down to their last one and the box was a bit damaged, so it was $12.99. I just had to get that. The total came to $106-odd, and of course my card didn't work, so I was able to hand over $120 and get my change.

Before H Mart I'd gone up where the nasturtiums are, and picked 25 flowers and a bunch of leaves, so a nasturtium salad with mallow flowers too is in my future, but when I got back here I felt like something else. So to accompany a can of pate I'd bought, I made a salad of celery, red onion, the leaves of the red onion that had sprouted, apple cider vinegar, sesame seed oil, and the last of the bottle of Kewpie mayo I needed to use up. A much better compliment to pate than nasturtium salad would be. And now that I've eaten, it's raining outside and the bums have to ride in it but I can stay in.
