4th day with zero alcohol. I went to sleep last "night" about 8AM, had done some packing and a load of laundry. I didn't sleep that well and strangely, got my best sleep after noon. I'm sober which is great but this crazy sleep schedule has got to be the next thing to go.
I had my boiled eggs and some tea and vitamins yep back to taking those now that my stomach seems somewhat normal again. I packed a few more packages and was leaving here at 10 after 6. The ride was uneventful (I think a lot of the bums have moved elsewhere or canceled each other out or got ahold of some really good drugs and checked out that way who knows) and the drop-offs uneventful. Again the chute at the post office worked fine and I made 3 deposits in it.
Coming back I dropped off the one FedEx package and bought some paper because I always like to have one more package than the one I'm using paper out of.
I found some pretty decent packing stuff on the way back, and debated with myself whether to go to Pho Bel Air and get some takeout. I decided it was a bit out of my way and besides, with as little as I make, do $15+ meals make sense? So I rode on home and found some more neat packing stuff and decided to get chicken wings which are under $10 at Grill'Em.
Grill'Em seems to have reverted to what it was pre-pandemic which is a very bro-y place. It was full of bros and I was waiting on by a bro who could barely string two thoughts together. It was an ordeal. Fortunately the brains of the operation, the Mexican cook, checked with me while the bro was bouncing off the walls taking care of orders, he made sure of what I was ordering. To quote Ah-Nuld, "I won't be back".
I got back here and the wings were perfect. The ranch dressing nice and warm and the carrots and celery sticks wilted as they were actually hot. As I said, perfect. I put the ranch in the freezer to cool down and the veggie sticks in the fridge for later. The wings were actually good and the freezer had cooled the ranch down in a few minutes. It's a big serving of wings they give you, and I finished 'em all so I guess my stomach really is getting back to normal.
I got all scrubbed up, like the classic Saturday night bath only Wednesday night, and then Ken called - his wife had some Cinco de Mayo "activity" (which I'm guessing involved liberal amounts of alcohol and even a few drinks for her) so he'll come by tomorrow.
