I'd packed a ton of things including three very large boxes, last night. I practiced a bit but I was so tired my heart was really not in it.
I woke up in time to label everything and take off at 5:30 with the post office stuff and one of the big boxes. I even had time on the way back to cover most of my packing supplies route. I headed out again at 7 with the other two boxes. It was really hot, 88 degrees at 5:30 and not much cooler on the 2nd trip.
I stopped at Tom's on the way back and this time he was relaxed - no phone calls. We hung out a bit and caught up with things. James showed up and offered Tom a McDonald's burger - double patty double cheese - to Tom who didn't want it but I did so I got it. Pretty tasty except rather salty.
As we talked, I kept hearing what sounded like a large roach crawling around and at one point Tom said, "There's a big roach crawling on your bike". I'd wrapped up the burger buns and had them sitting on the bike. I said, "He's after this - let it be breakfast for some bird" as I unwrapped the buns and put them on the ground in front of Tom's. Not long afterward, a large orange stray cat came up and took the buns and slunk off with them. I guess everyone likes McDonald's.
Tom was nodding off, he said, and called it a night. He wakes up at 5 or 6 in the morning. I took off for home and picked up some more packing stuff on the way.
