Last night after listing stuff I got a good practice in on the Voldyne
and on the shakuhachi. I *am* getting stronger on the shakuhachi. It's
such a different way of blowing from trumpet, I liken it to learning to
drive a car after having only ridden motorcycles for years. The long and
short of it is that I bought a car, drove it home because I knew the
basics, and continued my day-to-day getting around on the motorcycle,
taking the car out for a half-hour or so a day practicing on local
roads, to get the feel for it. It felt odd at first then things sort of
clicked and I felt natural in the car like I did on a bike.
I was awake around 1, and could not get motivated enough to get an early enough start to ride that long way to Daiso and all that. The best I could do is ride downtown to check the Amazon place for bubble mailers, obtaining none, then went to Nijiya for sake, a bento, a beer, and some dried cuttlefish.
On the way back I stopped at the temple and looked around to see what they're doing with the garden and so on. I found some "velcro plant" to pull up at the edges of the lawn in front; that stuff's an invasive weed and can be pretty hard on the hands too. So I pulled that and put it in the trash can.
I got back here and put the beer and bento etc away, and got the bike trailer out and used it to take the three pallets that came with that large load of stuff, that I'd leaned against the trash enclosure, away. I thought someone would take them but no one did and they even took some large boxes I tossed into the enclosure. So I took the pallets and leaned them up against some wooden shipping case parts that were out at the front of the complex. So now I feel like I'm being more of a good neighbor because those pallets effectively took up a parking space.
Then I had my bento and my beer and watched the services at the temple which they put on YouTube. There's one for the kids and one for adults.
