A Balmy 37 Degrees Out

First night of something like real sleep, I woke up a lot but at least no weird dreams. My computer said it's 37 out at 4 in the afternoon, then corrected it to 53. Well, at least I won't have to worry about frostbite.

I had a cup of tea and some aspirin, and loaded up the first load which was post office and FedEx stuff, and since I had $7 on me, had two chicken thighs at the chicken place. On the way back I checked the EMT training place and got a few good mailing boxes anyway.

I got back here and unloaded, and loaded up the 2nd load, which was just 3 large FedEx boxes. I also bagged up the smart phone, cable, and charger, in case I found the bum - I'd promised to be by last Saturday or so and I wasn't.

Traffic was insane, it seems everyone's been called into the office these days and it was cold and windy, not a lot of fun out there. People use their horns now, too. I made the run to FedEx OK, dropped off the boxes, then went around looking for the bum. I checked around H Mart, the stores around the corner from there, Starbucks, and even went into Panda Express to have a look at the people sitting in there, thinking if I were a bum I'd be near the back trying not to stand out.

Nowhere to be seen, I thought. Wait, what about by the McDonald's? Sure enough there they were. I got the phone out and said, "Here's the phone I was talking about" and we talked a bit. I got their name, and they claim to be 15 years old. And yet there they are, outdoors, huddled against the outside of the McDonald's, smoking cigarettes like a fiend. I got their name too which I'm not going to divulge here.

I picked up more packing stuff and a thing or two to list, small things, and got back in here. I put things away and got things pretty neat for when Ken was supposed to come by, at 7:30 he said, which turned out to mean 8:30.

I got my check and we hung out and drank tea, and talked about all sorts of things. He took off at a quarter to 10.

I cooked up some "Curry Mee" without the noodles but with veggies instead, and with salmon. It came out pretty well. I crushed up the noodles and put 'em out for the birds.

Then I got to work sorting out the boxes and boxes of stuff I've listed but not put away, plus dug out the things that have sold - only 4 of them but about $800 worth and not even big things.

I still have to put some things away that will take some light re-organizing, plus I'd like to do some things like laundry and a haircut, so I think I'll take tomorrow as an "in" day. The sold things don't have to go out until Friday and I have enough stuff here to cook good meals; no need to go out. I can go to the bank on Friday and then go out and do more shopping in Saturday, then rain comes in again.

Like training animals

You can talk and talk to an animal, and it won't learn that, for instance, if it's your kitty and she insists on napping in the sin...
