Cellulitis

I was up all night again. Got some stuff ready to list, packed things, did a little practice.

Today's the last dry day until early next week at earliest.

I got an email from Rinban, and the shakuhachi club meeting is pushed up a week. The guy from Palo Alto who has two real bamboo shakuhachi won't be coming which is too bad, he's a nice guy. But at least it gives me a bit more time to work on something else besides Nori No Miyama.

For some reason I've got cellulitis on my ears again. I've been dabbing on tea tree oil and that's not been enough, so time to start a new regime of washing thoroughly with Dettol, often, and massaging the tea tree oil in. I really don't mind losing a layer of skin if it gets rid of the cellulitis. If this regime doesn't do it, I'll go to Valley Health I guess and see if they can give me those pills that knocked it so far back before. Stuff's hard on the gut, making a daily little bottle of Yakult necessary, but with Yakult it's no problem.

Today's the last dry day until some time next week.

I woke up at 2:30, was out the door at 3:30, with trash to get rid of, books to donate, my pledge to drop off at the temple, packages for the post office, and one for FedEx. Got all that done in something like half an hour, when went to Whole Foods.

I got some vitamin D pills because I only had 5 left, got some very thin sliced salame of some kind ($6 package) and a Lagunitas NA (no alcohol) upstairs and enjoyed the rare bits of sun which came through strongly when the clouds weren't in the way. It was still cold though, with the wind.

Everything had this feeling like I was inside a giant snow globe, sort of enclosed with the air super-clear in the way the stuff in a snow globe is super clear. It was truly the calm before the storm.

After my near-beer and deli meat and bit of a sit upstairs, I went over to the Amazon place and got some bubble mailers, then over to Nijiya. At least a benefit of this cold weather is it tends to mean less zombies out on the streets and sidewalks. So I didn't have to dodge too many of 'em and I also got a couple of books from the free libraries.

At Nijiya I did a fair amount of shopping, because I'll be inside for the next few days, at least over the weekend.

I rode back here, put things away, and set out again with the bike and trailer and step stool and checked the medical place. I actually got some interesting things so the trip was well worth it, and I'd justified setting out because everything they toss out is going to get wrecked in the rain so why not.

I got back and did more neatening up and started eating some stuff I'd gotten from Nijiya, some chicken kara-age and this little salad that's all types of beans and bean sprouts that I like. There was a knock on the door and the guy who was picking up an oscilloscope was there. I handed it over so that went well. Then back to eating.

I vacuumed the office and cleaned the bathroom and Ken came by right on time. I got my check and we shot the shit for a while. I had my little heater on (and besides dressing warm had my little 511 cap on which is very warm) and Ken had to zip up his jacket, this cold weather is ... getting a bit tiring.

I told Ken chances are quite good I won't deposit the check until next week but who knows, I might wake up and it might be clear enough that I can make a quick dash downtown and do it.

Heavy, man.

Last night I got the Connstellation cornet out and put the screw for the 1st valve trigger back on, and installed new water key corks too. ...
