I got in maybe 45 minutes' practice last night. I had 4 beers and a bottle of makgeolli which is less than I've been drinking. I slept well. And before sleeping well, I listed 10 things, most of them large things.
I woke up having slept pretty well, and the plan for today was to stay in, get things done here, as it would be drizzly outside. Well, it was dry, and I just have to have my bike ride so I packed 8 things and did the post office and FedEx run, and also did $66 worth of shopping at H Mart. I got more makgeolli of course, and along with staples like some salmon "skins" to flense the meat off of and put in the freezer for remen, I got some fish cake and peanuts and a bottle of the same beer I've been buying in cans, that's the equivalent of two cans.
I got back, put things away, and headed right back out to check the medical place. I only got some packing stuff there and a couple odd little circuit boards. Oh, well. Back here, one of the places on the other side of the building had a ton of personal, household, type stuff in their dumpster. There was a scruffy looking guy with a big truck digging around, and I invited myself into the treasure hunt. The guy and I talked, I reassured him I'm not looking for metal, and I picked a couple things out, a book and a bottle with shell buttons and some bits of jewelry. I'll look at those later along with the two diabetic medical devices I got.
I got back in here and had my snack foods and drank the beer. Then I used about half a roll of paper towels cleaning up the leakage from the machine shop.
Then I had tons of things I'd listed to put away and amazingly I got them all put away and had time to at least clean the bathroom and the office floor was already pretty clean. Ken came by right on cue, I got my check, he got his AR-15 neoprene mat, and we hung out and drank tea and talked about tons of things.
I said I'd done some serious thinking and that I'd not be happy at all if he had another guy come in to work here, plus he'd have to pay the 2nd guy. He agreed, and we mused about how, once I've left, he can do the listings here and just hire someone to do the packing and to be the "muscle" if heavy stuff has to be moved around. Plus the helper could live in here if they wanted, as I'm going to leave tons of stuff here from my electric kettle and refrigerator and bedding to things like probably this computer and of course the printer and camera. So Ken's right with me in how I feel and not about to have some random noodnick come in here.
This weekend will be cold and drizzly if not rainy, for the most part. It'd be a good weekend for busking if it weren't for that. I should probably put my efforts at this time of year into selling things on Craig's List and come to think of it, people are getting their tax returns about now.
