Curfew, don't bother me (to the tune of Shoo Fly....)

Up at 4 which makes sense given that I went to bed at 8AM. I consider myself a really lazy fuck, yet I cut up and bagged up all that meat, boiled 16 (!) eggs in my big Korean pot, gave my cornet a thorough bath, and did my "homework" of packing all 20 Ebay items I had to ship. (OK I packed 19, because I could not find one and had to refund the buyer - I think it got lost in the move.)

So up at 4, had a cold coffee, my "vites" and swallowed them down with a Brazil nut or two. I was leaving the front of the building with a loaded bike and trailer at exactly 5.

The drop-offs went great, and I brought back a decent haul on my scrounging route on the way back: packing materials, cucumbers and poblano peppers and a head of lettuce that might still be good inside, an interesting lamp to give to Ken, and 5 dozen little bottles of "Apple" essential oils for Ken's son, Paul, who's into that sort of thing.

I relaxed for 15 minutes and had two boiled eggs and the rest of my Doutor cold canned coffee from yesterday, and headed out again for some H Mart shopping, at exactly 7.

The trouble was this: Due to various wartime things they're closing at 7 now. Ugh! I got back on the bike and dashed up to 99 Ranch, and my Asian peeps had my back because they're still open until 8. I got most of the things I was after, and I noticed they're selling cloth masks and I wanted one, but they were too busy shutting the store down to sell me one so I'll get it next time. The things missing from my list, I can get at Nijiya tomorrow.

I drank a can of celebratory Mr. Brown out front and then took off. I visited an area in front of the Post Office on Brokaw where I'd spotted a cluster of salsify plants, and that area is a nice little salsify garden. There are plants gone to seed, and young ones. I want to collect some seeds for salsify and nasturtium and plant them here and there.

On the way back I stopped and called Ken, to talk about what to do with regard to the curfew. He might come by before he goes to his job, but he's not sure because his boss gave him a letter saying he's essential etc., and if they have any questions here's the # for their lawyer.

The streets really emptied out as curfew time neared. There's not much call to be out after 8:30 anyway with everyplace closing so much earlier now, but now you can get hassled by a cop if you're out after then. This is why Ken is a bit nervous, because a few years back he did something dumb in traffic and they suspended his license for 30 days. That was pretty hilarious. His wife, Suzy, had to drive him around and we rode our bikes around to places like Bay 101 to have dinner.

Cold and foggy Friday

I woke up around 11, and even around noon it's foggy and dark.  I should mention that "dead internet theory", the theory that...
