I'd made an appointment for 2 at my bank and actually got up in time to do a thorough bath. I set out cardboard on the office floor, then put out one of those storage tubs, heat up two 500ml bottles of water, spray down with Windex, scrub, rinse. It works great. Not only is Windex a good soap but it's residue-free. So if a little goes here and there and doesn't get rinsed off or lands on stuff here in the office, it just evaporates. So I started my day very clean.
I headed for downtown at 1:30 or even 1:35, and got to the bank right on time. Man, it was dead out there. I went to Whole Foods after the bank and bought new bottles of all my vitamins since I'm running low, their last bag of walnut halves and pieces, and some dental floss and toothpaste. Place was super empty. I noticed a lot of things on sale and when I checked out the lady asked if I have Prime and I started to give her my phone number but partway through she said, "Nevermind, I'm giving you complimentary" so I guess there's a complementary Prime discount button they can press or something. Maybe it's based on how much spent, or she just liked me.
The only bike in the racks was mine, and I loaded it up and rode to the corner where I didn't press the WALK button because of a nasty bum right there, but the light changed right away, for almost no traffic.
I rode over to the Amazon place for bags and got exactly zero.
I rode then over to Nijiya and got a bunch of things including a tall can of Asahi "dry" and a plate of sushi, and rode back here. Often in the afternoon it's really busy on Old Bayshore and Queen's Lane but it was really, really un-busy.
Even here in the complex it's pretty quiet. I kind of miss the noisy ice cream trucks. The machine shops are humming along though and sometimes the pipes in the bathroom sing, giving me an excuse to work on my "Danny Boy".
I got in and enjoyed my sushi and beer and had a few senbei too.
